Eagles soaring, military jets are flying low overhead, and it is Incredibly peaceful (between the jets!)
Creating spaghetti from sauce chips, seasonings (including a lot of tasty garlic!), Alfredo, and chili dinners for a little less than $2 each. Lightweight, cheap, and tasty… I see no downside! Here is a pre and post rehydrating picture of spaghetti:
Huge thanks to my parents for the birthday gift of the vacuum food sealer!
Dehydrating has begun.
So far I have not done all that much but I am trying to only dehydrate sauces and veggies to add to things like rice and noodles. I have been re-evaluating my choices of food drops and am concluding that I would be best off by shipping breakfasts and dinners to myself and buying snacks in town.
This new ides will hopefully reduce the postage required and make this trip a little bit cheaper. My ship out date is still in the air, but it looks like I will probably be heading out from Seattle around April 8th. That is pretty much it for now… spent a bit of the weekend celebrating the 25th rotation around the sun that I have experienced.
I am getting old.
